A fundraiser hosted by RE/MAX Realty Group this month raised more than $18,500 for the Mahurangi Rugby Club.
“This was our fifth,” Mrs Klopper said, “and is a record beater in the amount raised.”
The event is a trivia night with silent and live auction items.
“The highlight of the night was an All Blacks jersey signed by Jeff Wilson, Mils Muliana, Sir John Kirwan and a selection of current high profile All Blacks, which was a donation from RE/MAX in Warkworth and organised through Jeff Wilson,” she said.
More than 120 people attended the function at Bridgehouse Lodge in Warkworth, with the venue catering in a show of support.
Mrs Kloppers says the entire RE/MAX Realty Group team embraces the charity event.
“It’s an especially intensive lead-up week with everyone putting in long hours.
“We held it on a Friday night after a lot of hard work from our team; and I’d particularly like to mention Michelle and Shellie for the fantastic effort these ladies put in.
“Especially after what we have gone through this year, we can’t thank enough our Warkworth community enough. Everyone supports the cause year after year, and this year took us to our all-time record amount raised.”
The annual fundraiser has become so popular that it is a sell-out each year.
